People who are playing are also learning. Games and simulations help to place complex content in an entertaining and comprehensible context.
Learning and motivation are closely related, with the desire to learn as an irresistible driving force. We have proved in a range of contexts that games can provide an effective framework in situations where the material is complicated, or where the students need extra motivation.
